Circular economy in Central Europe

Documents on the state of the art of industrial circular economy in the Central Europe region and in the CIRCE2020 pilot areas

  • ENVIRONMENTAL & LEGAL ANALYSIS REGULATION/CONSTRAINTS IN WASTE MANAGEMENT

The aim of the CIRCE2020 project is to develop and test methodologies and business models through the example of 5 industrial districts that can help experts and decision makers at European level to move the industrial sectors of the Member States into a more sustainable direction. This document focuses on the environmental and legal obstacles and regulations related to waste management and by-product processing in the CIRCE2020 project area.

  • LOCAL REPORTS ON CIRCULAR ECONOMY CRITICAL FACTORS

Reports on the enabling factors to implement circular economy processes at the industrial level in the 5 countries participating in CIRCE2020.

This report summarizes the results of the five individual Local Reports and compares them to the quality standards of the Action Plan COM(2105) 614, Closing the loop – An EU action plan for the circular economy.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN THE circe2020 pilot sites

  • M-SCALE ANALYSIS OF THE PHYSICAL FLOWS AT LOCAL INDUSTRIAL SYSTEM LEVEL

This report aims to provide the main findings exiting from the Material Flow Analysis (MFA) within CIRCE2020 project pilot sites.

  • LOCAL PRIORITIZATION PLANS

This document summarizes the process that leads to pilot cases identification, from the recognition of waste production & destination to the physical flows maps. The present process to prioritize the interventions is also supported by a permanent consultation with local stakeholders (administrations located in the pilot regions, trade and industrial associations, environmental authoritities etc.) to come to a shared hierarchy of waste flows to optimize and/or to close.
